Great Scott and The Almighties hail from Houston, Tx. and deliver a tasty mix of blues, boogie and funk that has audiences packing the dance floor. The band initially got out of the garage and burst onto the Houston music scene in 2013, advancing to the finals of The Houston Blues Society's section of The International Blues Challenge. Since then they have been entertaining crowds at venues all over town, as well as reunions, private parties and benefits.

Scott Starry, the founder of the band was born into a very musical family, although none in the blues genre. At the early age of ten, he came across a record with a track from Texas blues guitar legend Freddie King, and he was hooked. His first guitar was an old gut string acoustic, and wherever he went, that guitar went with him.

The core lineup is Scott Starry guitar/vocals, the legendary Eugene "Sparetime" Murray bass/vocals and the incomparable Albert Storo drums/vocals.  They often add a second guitar, and/or keyboard, harmonica or horns. The  constantly changing sets and lineup keep the crowd on the edge of their seats, wondering just who might show up
